Sophie Tucker
The role of Sophie Tucker is dear to Valerie’s heart - she has been researching it for the past 15 years. A veteran stage and screen actress, she wrote and has toured this tribute to the legendary "Last of the Red Hot Mamas" to rave reviews and standing ovations all over Ontario.
Favorite stage roles include: Shirley in Shirley Valentine, the
Mother Superior in several productions of Nunsense, Nunsense II
and Nuncrackers and various productions of Anne of Green Gables
in the roles of both Marilla and Mrs. Lynde.
Valerie co-stars as Principal Amanda Durst in the hit NBC/Discovery TV
series, Strange Days @ Blake Holsey High, Saturday afternoons at
12:30pm. She is also the voice of Mrs. Bear on Nelvana’s Rupert
the Bear series, on YTV.
Recent film and TV credits include: Pacifier with Vin Diesel, Loser
with Jason Biggs, Caveman’s Valentine with Samuel L. Jackson, Degrassi
– The Next Generation and V.P Niad in the Walt Disney series
